Our Origin and Mission
Janwani, an initiative of the Mahra a Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), was established in 2006 under the esteemed Chairmanship of Late Shri B. G. Deshmukh, former Cabinet Secretary, Government of India. Our mission is to advocate and implement sustainable development strategies in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR) for the benefit of its citizens and residents. We are dedicated to identifying gaps in the development process, se ing priorities, and providing well-researched and practical solutions.
Our Journey
Janwani was created with the objective of transforming the Pune Metropolitan Region into an exemplary place to live and work. Our approach involves creating a collaborative platform for stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions across various aspects of city life, including the environment, mobility, cultural enrichment, and basic amenities.

Our Initiatives
Under our flagship Zero Garbage Initiative,Janwani is commi ed to ensuring comprehensive waste collection and segregation in several areas,including slums such as Laxminagar, Sanjay Gandhinagar, and Hadapsar-Manjari, as well as Zone F of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. We currently cover over 150,000 households.
